Asia is the most promising market for the expansion of the global casino gaming industry with revenue from casinos and other regulated gambling activities in Asia estimated to grow 14% a year from 2005 to 2010 - the fastest pace in the world.
The success of Macau as a world-class gaming and vacation destination has catalyzed numerous Asian countries to expand their tourism offerings. Key Southeast Asian countries are enabling gaming in hotels and other venues to promote tourism and stimulate local economies.
Our markets are significantly under-penetrated by gaming machines in comparison to other established markets in the region. For example, the Philippines has nearly 16,000 people per gaming machine, compared to approximately 100 in Australia and 400 in the U.S. In addition, an emerging middle class that actively enjoys gaming entertainment is driving the growth of gaming in these markets.
